TeamTeacher is a founder-led edtech company built by a teacher and a software developer. Maggie brings 14 years of international classroom experience across 6 countries and deep expertise in curriculum frameworks including IB, WIDA, and UDL. Joe brings a decade of building secure, scalable products at companies like Zendesk, Apollo GraphQL, and Skyflow, with a focus on API design, data privacy, and security. We're small by design — every user's feedback reaches the people building the product.

We started TeamTeacher because we believe teachers deserve tools built by people who understand the work — the classroom, the curriculum, and the craft. Our AI agents aren't generalists. They're specialists, trained on specific curricular frameworks and designed for the actual tasks teachers do every day: planning units, writing report card comments, aligning to standards, building assessments. The kind of work that eats your evenings and weekends when it doesn't have to.

Why We Started TeamTeacher

Maggie: The 2023-2024 school year was one of the toughest in my teaching career. Burnout loomed large, and I found myself questioning whether I could continue in the profession I love. That's when I discovered how AI could transform teachers' workloads — and I started building custom GPTs that my colleagues actually wanted to use. What began as survival became a company.

Joe: Watching my sister struggle was hard. I'd spent years building secure, scalable platforms, and I knew the technology existed to make teachers' lives easier. When Maggie's custom GPTs started amazing her colleagues, I realized we had something real — not just an idea, but proof it worked.

Together, we channeled that into TeamTeacher: AI tools built by someone who's lived the job, developed by someone who's built systems trusted by enterprises.
